Sometimes when I think I really have turned a corner and am moving ahead full steam, the ego kicks in and I lose it.
This poem is a good reminder to realize it is just a bump in the road. We can choose to give up or dust ourself off and move forward.

You’ve done it again Suzie. Only this time I’m crying. But they’re not bad tears. That poem got me through some very DARK days in my teenage years. Days when I wished I had the courage to end my life because I really didn’t want to keep living. Days when my dad’s best friend was touching my inappropriately and my own mother told me it was all “in my head”. Days when my friends turned their back on me because they were “jealous” (their words). What a laugh. If only they knew the life I was living day in and day out.
Last night I was thinking I was going to quit the mentoring group. I just didn’t think I had it in me to keep going. Didn’t think I had what it takes.
This morning I’ve been struggling after a bad night’s sleep. Wanting to stop learning piano (which I usually LOVE) and give up on exercise.
Some days just ARE hard. But this has reminded me that times have been tough before. And I SURVIVED. And THRIVED.
And I can do it again.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Hi Jodi,
Wow, that really touched me, do you know abut the Journey, by Brandon Bays. I have done a lot of work with The Journey and so many people come from the background you unfortunately have.
There are a couple of posts on the Highway, http://tinyurl.com/5fxqke
then there is The journey web site http://brandonbays.com/
Re mentoring, I feel the same at the moment- somehow I want to keep going as I think it will be good in the end.
You are doing great, think how well your blog rates etc
Take care and yes you can do it again
